Wieslab 'Capture' diagnostic kits - now from Axis-Shield UK

Wieslab’s broad range of autoimmune diagnostic kits and antigens – including the important Wielisa® Capture PR3-ANCA ELISA - are now available from Axis-Shield UK. The measurement of ANCA, particularly against proteinase 3 (PR3), is useful as an aid in diagnosing systemic vasculitis, especially Wegener's granulomatosis (WG) and microscopic polyangiitis (MP). For patients diagnosed with vasculitis disease, ANCA testing offers clinicians the ability to monitor disease activity.

The Wielisa Capture PR3-ANCA kit is a multiwell plate ELISA for semi-quantitative analysis of anti-proteinase 3 (PR3) antibodies. Plates are precoated with a monoclonal antibody/PR3 complex. This assay technology has been shown to be more sensitive for detecting PR3-ANCA in WG than either direct ELISA or immunofluorescence techniques (IFT). In addition, it also results in less interlaboratory variation.

Having been acquired by Euro-Diagnostica in 2004, Wieslab products have been integrated into their range of in vitro diagnostic kits, all available from Axis-Shield UK. Wieslab is a world leader in diagnosis of autoimmune vasculitic disorders and was the first to develop commercial ELISA-tests for anti-GBM and PR3-ANCA.
